Battle Damaged Samus – Metroid
The Armor
The armor for this project were all 3D printed using PLA+ filament. The base STLs for this cosplay were kitbashed models from this model set and made to look battle damaged prior to printing. They were surfaced with Bondo glazing putty and primed with Rustoleum Filler Primer/Self Etching Primer before being painted by Kyle “RISE” Irving.
The codpiece for this armor was made out of layered EVA Foam with Velcro closures. Shading and details were painted on with paint pens and airbrushed paints.
The Suit
The suit was made from blue spandex using a slightly modified pattern from this pattern bundle. The dark blue accent pieces were originally made out of stretchy HTV material (Note: I would recommend against making it this way, applique or similar would look much nicer). The pink and silver accent pieces are also made from HTV material.
Some of the pieces for connecting the suit to the armor pieces (i.e. the neck, inner waist joints, and knees) were made from a shiny pleather spandex material.
